William Cox was the father of Gertrude ,who was the first owner of The Doll Family and the mother of Katherine who was the mother of Annie, who was Kate Palmer's mother. Kate palmer in this book is the current owner of The Doll Family. It was he who ordered the Dolls from Wilson & Sons Catalogue No. 61 in 1896 for his daughter, Gertrude.
